Lift vs extensions — which should I choose?
A lash lift enhances what you already have and is lower-maintenance: no fills, no cleanser rituals, no sleeping-on-your-back concerns. Extensions add length and density for a more dramatic look but require appointments every two to three weeks. If you have naturally healthy lashes and want an effortless daily routine, a lift is usually the better call. If you want length or drama you can't achieve with your own lashes, extensions win.
What happens during the appointment?
You'll rest with your eyes closed for about 60 to 75 minutes. We use silicone shields sized to your natural lash length (this is where a lot of at-home kits go wrong — one-size shields cause weak lifts). The lifting lotion is applied at the base of the lashes for a controlled amount of time, then a setting lotion locks in the new curl. If you've added tint, it's applied last for two to three minutes. No heat, no pulling, no discomfort.
Aftercare for a long-lasting lift
Keep lashes completely dry for the first 24 hours — no water, no steam, no crying at a sad movie. Skip mascara for the first day. From day two on, brush lashes daily with a clean spoolie, apply a lash-conditioning serum a few nights a week, and avoid oil-based cleansers directly on the lash line. Do this and your lift will look fresh at week six; skip it and you'll see it fading by week four.
Who's not a good candidate?
If your natural lashes are very short (under 4 mm), the shield won't have enough length to grip and the lift won't take. If you've had a chemical relaxer or another lash lift within the past six weeks, we'll wait — over-processing can weaken lashes. Pregnancy, breastfeeding and eye surgery within the last six months are all conversation starters — not automatic disqualifications, but we'll walk through them at the consult.

Questions
Frequently asked
- What's the difference between a lash lift and eyelash extensions?
- A lash lift curls your natural lashes upward from the base for 6–8 weeks. Extensions add length and density. A lift is lower-maintenance and doesn't require fills; extensions give a more dramatic look.
- Can I wear mascara after a lash lift?
- Yes — but most clients find they don't need it. If you do, wait 24 hours after the treatment and use a water-based, lash-safe mascara.
- How long does it take?
- About 60–75 minutes including tint. Your eyes are closed the entire time.
- How often can I get a lash lift?
- Every 6–8 weeks. Getting them too frequently can weaken natural lashes, so we always wait for a full growth cycle.
- Will a lash lift damage my natural lashes?
- No, when done correctly with proper timing and product application. We use silicone shields sized specifically to your lash length and never over-process. If you've had a bad lift before, tell us — we'll do a strand test first.
- Can I wear eye makeup afterwards?
- After the first 24 hours, yes. During the first day, avoid mascara, oil-based cleansers, hot showers or steam so the lift can fully set.
